This Bimota was raced by the Human Race Team in the 1991 AMA/CCS National Endurance Series. It is the only Bimota ever to race in the USA with factory sponsorship. The Human Race Team (the WERA National Endurance Series Champions the year before (1990) on a Yamaha FZR1000 - the same engine that is in the Bimota YB10) featured riders Dale Quarterly and Tom Douglas. The team had mixed results - they won three overall races in a row - Loudon, Elkhart Lake (lapping the entire field!) and Charlotte, but had some engine related DNFs and crashes, and missed the final two rounds due to lack of funds. This bike has been restored to the condition that raced in 1991. |
